A young man’s college friends find out one of his most private secrets.
Someone’s mother suddenly disappears in front of their eyes.
The secrets of the universe are suddenly found on chewing gum wrappers.

A college student walks into her dorm room to find her room-mate Feng-Shui-ing everything.

When your writing needs a little jolt you may find your creative break from the strange. More than ever a little odd thing here and there can give that next novel the push it needs.

This is very funny.

Flying spaghetti monster?
Is humor a logical event? Probably the most logical. It has the power to
make fear fade and help induce understanding (when experienced by some one
with a sense of humour).
True humorous understanding comes with uncontrolable laughter and awareness
of incongruous realities. Sorry for the jargon.
Fear and anger are medically known to cause ill health.
According to medicine laughter has the ability to promote health. Really.
The debate must go on.
Where else would we acquire humour?

There is so much to be said for looking in strange places for inspiration.
Mundane things can even be inspiration when juxtaposed in weird ways with other things. Fuel your writing.

When your creative flow is blocked you can try this.
Stop thinking about your current project for a bit. Use this pause to think about a really irrational subject.
Test this irrational subject in your thoughts by imagining it really happening.
I probably don’t need to tell you to go back to regular realistic thought.
You might be surprised at the effect of a flight of fancy can have on real life situations.

This new category is being created in response to the author’s recognition of the logical and illogical that pervaid society.
Logic has merit for it’s ability to prove something. Illogic exists in it’s very own self deprecating form. If the universe is made of logical structure then illogical things can not exist. Not even theoretically. How can people think of or recognize illogical things then?
We shall see.

Your story is going as planned, you have the character developement, and place unfolding then your stumped. The story you were flowing with has now slowed to a crawl.
I know the feeling. You have talent that seems boundless but your having a tough time with just this one story.
That can make a person or writer pretty disapointed.
I have been trying to develope a way to get out of that creativity rut.
In my searches I found a process developed by a man named Tony Buzan called Mind Maps.
Here are some resources to get you started on Mind Maps if you want to take this route to promote creativity.

It’s a visual process that can promote the flow of the mind. I have found it useful in breaking modes of stagnant creativity.
You may recognize this process, but if you don’t you may have stumbled on the way to getting your creativity flowing again.
